Economical Assistance

Medical Assistance
Our Ministry provides medical assistance to those in need, including financial support for treatments, access to healthcare services, and aid for essential medications, ensuring everyone receives the care they deserve.
Persons with Disability
Persons with disabilities can access financial aid, assistive services, skills training, and inclusive programs designed to promote independence and equal opportunities for a better quality of life.
Requirements
Eligibility

- The process involves assessing your income, assets, housing expenses, and family size to determine if you are financially eligible for Public Assistance.
How to apply?
- Free forms are available at all Ministryâs locations countrywide OR can be downloaded online through MoHSSSâ website: https://mhsss.gov.gy/forms/.
- Process:
Applicants are interviewed by the officers after which the duly constituted Local Board of Guardians of the district will deliberate and decide if the applicant will qualify to receive the public assistance. Once the applicant is approved, the officer will call to inform the applicant when they can uplift the booklet. It can after which be cashed at the post office and soon at alternate locations.
Processing Time
- 6-8 weeks from time of application submission
Documents required to process application
- Guyanese Birth certificate
- A Valid Guyanese Passport or Citizenship papers
- A Valid Guyanese National Identification card
- Information about your housing costs (such as rent receipts, mortgage statements, or utility and heating bills)
- Information about your income (such as pay stubs or support orders)
- Information about your job or training program
- Number of persons in your family
- Number of children and their ages
- If you have a spouse or adult dependents
- Your income and assets
- If you are entitled to other sources of income
- Where you are residing
- Letters from the schools the children are attending.
