Registration Process :
If a person is interested in participating in a course the applicant can register via call 259-3559 or email pwdlearning@gmail.comindicating the course, they would like to join. Once the applicant registers, our team will contact them with details for the course.

Assistive Aids

The assistive aids program offers resources to persons with disabilities to improve their ability, free of cost. DCU provides free wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, white canes , and other assistive aids to help persons with mobility disabilities. What will you need?:

  • Birth Certificate (Applicable to child only)

Persons Living with Permanent Disabilities Public Assistance

Public assistance is permanent aid provided to those who are living with permanent disabilities until the age of 65. Requirements Guyanese residents aged 18-64 can seek public assistance for themselves or a child due to a permanent disability providing they have a medical report Eligibility: To determine if you are eligible to receive Public Assistance, the Ministry looks at your:

How To Apply? Free forms are available at all Ministry’s locations countrywide OR can be downloaded online through MoHSSS’ website: https://mhsss.gov.gy/forms.html. Process: Applicants are interviewed by the officers after which the duly constituted Local Board of Guardians of the district will deliberate and decide if the applicant will qualify to receive the public assistance. Once the applicant is approved, the officer will call to inform the applicant when they can uplift the booklet. It can after which be cashed at the post office and soon at alternate locations.
