The Guyana Women’s Leadership Institute (GWLI) develops, promotes, educates and supports women and girls as leaders and decision-makers through education and training in order to facilitate equal accession and full participation in leadership and decision-making processes throughout the Guyanese society.

What is WIIN?

Women’s Innovation and Investment Network is a training program under the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security that is fully committed to offer Free Certified Technical and vocational training to women who are aspiring to build their careers or micro enterprises.

Application Process

Online Registration for WIIN is conducted all year. Candidates who would like to register for training can call 229-2751, 229-2842 or reach out via email gwli.wiin@gmail.com. Classes or courses offered through WIIN take on a hybrid format. They are available online or in person. However, some courses require a physical component or practicum by the third level since it requires internships to complete practicum.

What is the Business Incubator?

A business incubator is a facility that provides exceptionally early-stage businesses with coaching, and support resources to help them get established.

Functions of the Business Incubator

  • Improved understanding of the principles of micro-enterprise development.
  • Improved ability to apply skills related to starting and growing a micro-enterprise.
  • Improved knowledge related to the management of business finances and employees through life skills training.
  • Improved ability by participants to develop the framework of a business plan based on a business idea.
  • Improve skill levels for participants in writing and developing a business plan.
  • Improved networking capacity to receive support from other government and training agencies so participants can establish a legal business and receive additional training support.
  • Creation of a referral pathway for participants to access micro-financing.
  • Ability to access financing based on a submitted business plan.
  • Registering a small business.

WIIN in Business Clinic

The WIIN in Business Clinic places vulnerable women on a path to financial self-reliance. The programme is an important support mechanism to the WIIN training programme which ensures the development of micro and small enterprises by providing training in the development of a coherent business plan, networking with licensing and compliance agencies and the provision of access to micro-financing.
