When to apply?

Approximately six weeks before reaching your 65th birthday

Requirements

  • You must have lived in Guyana for at least 10 years, with at least 2 of those years spent as a resident of Guyana.
  • You must be a Guyanese citizen or legal resident in Guyana at the time we accept your pension application.

Processing Time

Approximately six weeks before reaching your 65th birthday

Documents required to process applications

  • Booklet-Valid Guyanese National Identification Card, Passport, Birth Certificate, or any other form of identification along with Application Form.
  • Banking- Valid Guyanese National Identification Card, Passport, Birth Certificate, or any other form of identification along with banking Application Form and Bank statement.
  • MMG- Valid Guyanese National Identification Card, Passport, Birth Certificate, or any other form of identification along with MMG Application Form, MMG account name, MMG account number.If you do not have an account one will be created for you!

Banking Process

  • Pension deposits are made 1st – 5th of the first week of every month, NO cash out fees charged.
  • Every quarter, LIFE Certificates can either be dropped off at any of the Ministry’s Offices nationwide, scanned and emailed to pension@mhsss.gov.gy OR make a WhatsApp video call to 662 1572 and show a valid form of identification that is clearly seen during the call .

MMG Process

  • Every quarter, LIFE Certificates can either be dropped off at any of the Ministry’s Offices countrywide, OR scanned and emailed to pension@mhsss.gov.gy OR make a WhatsApp video call to 662-1572 and show a valid form of identification that is clearly seen during the call.

Booklet Process

  • Ministry will make contact when and where to uplift pension booklet

Locations to cash monthly vouchers in booklet

Pensioners can cash their vouchers any day of the month, free of cost at the Post Offices, Bill Express and Sure Pay locations countrywide.

Shut-Ins

  • A pensioner confined to a wheelchair, visually impaired or bedridden.

Remote Services

  • Payments will be made every 3-6 months.
